Women of Faith Esther and Mary

Esther, a Jewish orphan who became queen of Persia, was placed in a position of influence "for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14), to save her people from annihilation. Her story speaks of divine providence and bold action, showing us that God can use anyone to fulfill His purposes, regardless of their beginnings.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a young woman living in Nazareth when the angel Gabriel appeared to her with a message that would change history (Luke 1:26-38). Her response to this divine calling was one of humility and obedience: "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word" (Luke 1:38).
