Proverbs Chapter 2 (NIV)
undefined
Moral Benefits of WisdomMy son, if you accept my wordsand store up my commands within you,
undefined
turning your ear to wisdomand applying your heart to understanding,
undefined
and if you call out for insightand cry aloud for understanding,
undefined
and if you look for it as for silverand search for it as for hidden treasure,
undefined
then you will understand the fear of the Lordand find the knowledge of God.
undefined
For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
undefined
He holds victory in store for the upright,he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
undefined
for he guards the course of the justand protects the way of his faithful ones.
undefined
Then you will understand what is right and justand fair—every good path.
undefined
For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
undefined
Discretion will protect you,and understanding will guard you.
undefined
Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,
undefined
who leave the straight pathsto walk in dark ways,
undefined
who delight in doing wrongand rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
undefined
whose paths are crookedand who are devious in their ways.
undefined
It will save you also from the adulteress, from the wayward wife with her seductive words,
undefined
who has left the partner of her youthand ignored the covenant she made before God.
undefined
For her house leads down to deathand her paths to the spirits of the dead.
undefined
None who go to her returnor attain the paths of life.
undefined
Thus you will walk in the ways of good menand keep to the paths of the righteous.
undefined
For the upright will live in the land,and the blameless will remain in it;
undefined
but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be torn from it.
